a real witch
The only sound came from an old purring cat. The only light came from the moon. The last time Abby had seen the light of the sun was nine years ago and the warmth had become nothing more than a faint memory.

She was only six that last cloud free day. Like most children, she had been energetic. She blew bubbles toward the wind and they flew back at her, the feeling of magic consumed her as they burst against her soft, white skin.

A clap of thunder woke her from her trance. It was stupid to waste time thinking about the lives of humans, even the one she had once enjoyed so much.

"Now that you've realized the lies and hatred the human race has to offer you can put an end to it just as I have tried to do."

Abby's mind, once again started to flash back to the bits and pieces of her last day as a human, her first day as the devil's slave. She didn't want to kill anyone and she didn't want to seduce any others into following him. A cold hand touched her and her own beliefs and memories faded into blackness. She was no longer herself, but rather a lost soul hidden by a dark mask, never to be discovered.

"Are you ready to go my dear?"

"Yes." No...

With her own thoughts gone, he sent her out into the night. She had no pointed hat, or broom, or wand to give her magic and the childish thought of magic bubbles was no more. Instead, the powers of the prince of darkness himself guided her during her journey through the night.

The only light still came from the moon. The only sound came from her silent, unshed tears.
