Glorious Infatuation

         There my wish is
         Someday I want to be able to go over and say
         "Hey babe, you look lovely today, just like everyday,"
         And you'll laugh while releasing a sweet "pssh."
         
         But I don't have that. Just glorious infatuation.
         You brighten my mood when you walk in a room
         You have such a positive 'tude. Anything you do is done.
         Even your freckles fill me with passion

         So I promise to try the next day
         Always the same self-harming failure
         An akward pause and an uncharming hello
         Plus I don't want to compromise our communications

         All I can do is grit my teeth
         Close my eyes. And sit. Right next to you.
