A short poem about the doubts and pain experienced in a long distance relationship
My heart weeps for you
You are only missing her
My shoulder is yours to cry on
But I have to cry on it too
Your shoulder is not there for me

My eyes search for you
My hand reaches out to hold yours
But it’s never there
You are never there
Even when you are right beside me

I am alone
And you cannot see my pain
Only my hurt reaction
You cannot see what I see
You do not feel what I feel

Distance is our enemy
Time passed is unretrievable
Why are we wasting time here
Yesterday is tomorrow
And now is gone

I want to hold your hand
You walk in front like I am not even there
I say I love you
Must have been a bad line
Cause you didn’t say it back

Living in suspense
No plans, nothing definite
Treading water
This might be OK for you
But it is not OK for me

Goodbye.
