Memories of Thailand follow me in my dreams and thoughts.
Whirlwind

Electronic sounds, and girls voices everywhere.
The swirls of lights and of liquid circled me.
Messy hair made of silk was tangled.
Skirts that went around our waists and fell
far above our knees made boys look.
The beach and the sand and the drinks.
Memories of Thailand follow me in my dreams and thoughts.

The cars and lights made me dizzy,
The smells and funny drinks made me loose,
The white walls were dirty, and the floors creaked.
There were six of us in the bed, in various degrees of undress.
Alexei was there with me, like he always was,
Memories of white underdresses and the strange boy from England taunt me.

The sand followed us in our shoes,
The trees gave us shade when the crazy nights seemed to have ended.
Until we wandered into a little house on the beach.
The heat made me sticky.
Shaggy blonde boys with their heads in smoke.
The beach was orange in the mornings,
Breezes smelled of spices and weren't quite refreshing,
Memories of the beach will stay with me always.

Dancefloors were multicoloured with chipping paint.
Skin was everywhere.
My skin was sun kissed, my hair was whipped by the wind and the sea.
The city was deep green in early afternoon,
It turned a sticky beige in the late heat.
It was black with flashing lights at night time.
Hotel balconies were concrete.
Girls held the hands of strange western men.
Memories of their tears have scarred me forever.

Showers tasted like sulphur.
They didn't seem to get me clean.
The busy city and bustling world had exhausted me.
Our bed had green and yellow sheets.
We slept there for days.
The waves crashed gently onto the shore with soothing, rhythmic timing.
My mind needed a break.
My body wanted love.
Memories of our love will keep me young always.
