Chapter 2

Will You Still Love and Remember Me...

“Selina! Selina! I’m home!” Yelled Andre after he comes to visit Selina. “Weird?” After so many times yelling and pressing the door bell and Selina doesn’t open the door, Andre uses his own key to open the door. Andre sees his wristwatch, it shows seven o’clock passed fifteen minutes, “So the nurse already home.” The door opens. “No light? Selina, where are you?”

When Andre rushing to looking for Selina, “Hey!!!” She yells to startle Andre and turn on the light at the same time. “Andre…. Welcome home!!”

“Selina, do you want me to die fast? Why you startling me like that, I thought you….” Got caught again by Toni or someone beside Toni said Andre in heart. “Ahhh…. never mind.”

“Andre sorry, sorry… I just want to play little bit with you. Please don’t be angry.” Selina said it with smile on her face.

“How can I get angry with you?” Said Andre pinches Selina’s cheek. “But please don’t ever do that again. Don’t startling me again like that?” Now Andre saying that with serious face.

“Don’t make that serious face. You will get wrinkles if you keep doing that. Come on, smile on me pleasseeee….” Said Selina entertains Andre.

“Hmm…”

“Why you hmm – ing? What that hmm means?” Asked Selina.

“This hmmm means….” Suddenly Andre tickles Selina.

They run all over the place, laughing and enjoying their time together.

“I catch you!” Said Andre when he catches Selina. Andre hugs and kisses Selina and with whisperingly, he said to Selina, “I really really love you so much.”

He wants to continue kissing but Selina stops him with using her first finger into Andre’s lips, “Love can’t make your stomach full.” Selina holds Andre right hand and ask Andre to go to the dinner table.

She makes Andre sits on the chair between the dinner table and after that she serves food that still cover with aluminum cover. Selina sits on the chair too beside Andre chair, “So let’s eat.”

“Can’t wait to eat what you made.” Andre said the sentence with smile on his face.

“Yes, you are always bringing foods home, so for today no more outside foods. I will start to cook from today, so no need to buy any foods from outside.” Said Selina. “Come on, come on, open the aluminum cover and dig in.”

“Ok, what food you made for today? Hmmm…” Andre opens the aluminum cover.

“They are meat pies with green vegetables.” When the aluminum cover opens, the food makes Andre more startle than the no light incident. He only can see the food and can’t eat it, the pie is made from mud that decorated with branches and tree leaves, how can he eats that. Suddenly Andre looks on Selina, Selina already take the mud on the spoon and the spoon almost enters her mouth. With hurryingly, he grabs and throws away the spoon, “Don’t eat that!!!”

Selina shocks, she gets up from her chair and run to the corner, she hides and starts to tremble. She hugs herself and mumbling continuously, “I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry…”

“Selina…, I am that suppose to be saying sorry to you, sorry for yelling at you, sorry…” Said Andre with sad face seeing his fiancée that he thought already recover, but the fact is Selina still didn’t recover from her sickness. “Selina, Selina, please…..”

But Selina still mumbling continuously, she lost on her own thought, and she doesn’t hear any sentences that Andre tell her. So Andre with sad face and tears almost come down from his eyes looks for injection that will make Selina calms down. Selina will go to sleep after having that injection and forget all that happened to her.

Selina get unconscious after having the injection. Andre takes her to her room and he is pulling the blanket to cover her. Andre kisses her forehead and says, “Goodnight Selina, sorry for yelling at you…. But I must do what are the best for you and just forget what happened tonight. Yes with that injection, you will forget everything when you wake up and even for the sentence ‘I am really really love you’…” 

Outside Selina’s room, Andre lost in his thought, ‘Now I don’t need to hesitate again, I must do everything to kill that bastard, each time I see Selina, the more I hate that bastard. So do I must call Latisha and asking her to help me on this matter? Ok no more thinking.’ Suddenly he phones to his home, “Mom, please give me Latisha number.”

The next day and the time show nine o’clock in the morning. Andre waits for nurse to come because he wants to ask about why yesterday Selina cooking mud pies.

Door bell ringing and Andre goes opening the door.

“Good morning Mr. Abram.” Said nurse that got schedule to take care Selina today.

“Good morning nurse.”

“I will prepare Miss Mitchel’s medicines.”

“Wait nurse, I want to ask you something?”

“What is it Mr. Abram?”

“Did you taking care good of Selina yesterday?”

“Sure Sir, I am always taking good care of her. Why you asked me that?”

“Because yesterday she served two mud pies for us to ate.”

“Mud pies? But she said that she prepared meat pies with green vegetables?”

“They aren’t meat pies with green vegetables, but mud pies with tree branches and tree leaves on it.”

“Ohh…  I don’t know that. Yesterday she kept mumbling that she wanted to make meat pies with green vegetables, so she can serve the pies to you. I permitted her to make it for you. I think its ok to leave her for a moment like I used to leave her, so I went to prepared hot water for her, and when the hot water already prepared, she vanished, I can’t found her anywhere, I’m searching her all over the place and I find her at the backyard, and I saw two plates covered with aluminum, she is saying that are the pies that she just made. I want to see it and she refused, she keeping the pies well and she really really don’t want to show me what inside the aluminum covers. I decided to take the pies later, but I am really sorry Mr. Abram, I forgot to do it. Please forgive me. And yesterday I left on hurry, because my first son sick and need to go to the doctor ASAP, so I…”

“Ok I heard you clear enough. But I don’t want this happening again, if this thing happen again, you will be fired. Ok I will go now, please take care of her well.” After saying last sentences, Andre grabs his coat and left.

The nurse just can stands confusedly, because she sees that Mr. Andre Abram become very different than last time.

Ten o’clock in the morning. Latisha and Andre now on Departize Restaurant.

“Hello.” Said Latisha.

“Hi again.”

“So… why you suddenly want to meet me?” Asked Latisha.

“Well, you said you’re the one that saving me at that time, but sorry you are still a stranger to me, and you don’t know me well too. So before I say why I want to meet you today, I think I must tell you everything about me and Selina. Do you want to hear the entire story?”

“Well I have plenty time to hear it, so tell me then.”

Thirty minutes Andre tells the entire story from his promise to Selina since they were little child until Selina getting caught by Toni, he didn’t know why he having time skip so he didn’t know why Selina entered mental hospital and it was already happened for three months.

“And I think I know why you having three months time skip, that is because you have one month coma in hospital and two months amnesia, and when you conscious from all of it, you forgot all the things happened and you forgot about me, your savior.” Latisha said it with sad face.

“If I don’t request you to meet with cold headed, maybe I won’t trust every word that you are saying to me. But I think there won’t be any explanation better than this. For this moment, I will accept all your explanations, but sorry I still can’t remember about you…”

“Ok never mind about it, well at least we can talk like friends.” Said Latisha with smile on her face.

“Yes…” Answered Andre.

“I think you are here, not just for story telling, anything you need from me beside that?” Asked Latisha.

“You already know about Toni, he is a jerk that likes to play with women. And I got information from my friend and the next target is you…”

“Me!?” Said Selina with shocked tone.

“Yes, you… I am telling you this because I don’t want you become the next Selina…”

“Thank you for telling me.” Said Latisha with thankfully tone.

“Do you know we can end his cruelness, but…”

“But what??”

“It is too dangerous to do for a woman like you…”

“If I can help, I will try to help you.”

“It’s too dangerous… really dangerous…” Said Andre.

“Please tell me how dangerous is it if I want to help on this matter?”

“It’s really dangerous. You must approach and seduce Toni so he can trust you and bring you to biggest black jack gambling within this one month. And if you can make it you must learn some codes to tell what cards that Toni own on the gambling game. We must make Toni lost everything on the game and at the right time, I with my friends will kill him, so no more Toni on this world. It will be easy for you to approach and seduce him because he is already got interest with you. But still I am little bit worry with this plan, I am afraid that the plan that we working on will be successfully or not.”

“This is a very very dangerous matter, if anything happen to me, do you will take the risk to save me?”

“I and my friends will make this working well without any obstacle, we will protect you, and I am promising you on this.”

“Last question, will you marry me after it, because I am already helping you with this dangerous matter?”

For the last question, Andre can only sits still and can’t answer anything.

“Ok, ok, don’t think too much, I will help you.” Said Latisha laughs when she sees Andre’s serious face. “I know you are a loyal man, so I can’t separate you with Selina.”

“So you are making fun of me?”

“Hahaha… Do you remember, I am always making fun of you, because you are so fun to be making fun of.”

“Sorry… I didn’t remember any of it.” Said Andre with sad face.

“No need saying sorry, I think we are already become as same as two months ago, when you and I still friends and know each others.” Said Latisha smiling. “If this matter already done, I want to request you one thing and I want you to fulfilling it.”

“Ok, I will fulfill your entire request. So now we must hurry make schedule so you and my friends can learn some tactics and codes for facing the black jack on one month forward.” After done saying all of those sentences, Andre uses his mobile phone and call Reno.

If I doing all of this, will you turn your heart to me Randy… said Latisha on her heart.

At twelve o’clock, Reno and Pedro come to meet Andre and Latisha on Departize Restaurant.

“This is Reno and this is Pedro, Reno and Pedro this is Latisha Raymond.”

“Nice to meet you guys.” Said Latisha when they shaking hands.

“Hey Andre, you didn’t tell me that Latisha Raymond is a pretty girl.” Said Pedro.

“Pedro, where is your manner?” Said Reno.

“Oops… really sorry miss.” Said Pedro.

“Oh it’s ok. No need to be so formal with me.” Said Latisha.

“I think we need to go to the shooting place. Andre and you miss must learn and sharpen your shooting skills, because there will be a shooting incident on the black jack gambling game, so will be better to guard ourselves before the incident happen.” Said Reno. “As soon as possible, we must teach you to learn tactics and codes, and sharpen your shooting skill too, so there aren’t any times that waste.”

“So hold my ears to say 10, earrings to say Jack, necklace to says Queen, hair to say King, and eyes to say he have an Ace, and I can give any signs with my fingers to tell he have cards from number one until nine? Hmm… I will remember it.” Said Latisha with thinking expression.

“But Reno, why she must change her actions when Toni gets 10, Jack, Queen, King or an Ace, all those cards have same values on black jack?” Asked Pedro.

“Yes, they have same values, but if Miss Latisha keep doing same actions continuously, Toni will look suspiciously on her.” Reno answered.

“Hmm… you are right.” Pedro agreed with Reno’s answer.

“And Pedro, you and I will changing shifts to guard Miss Latisha when she is doing her job to persuade Toni.” Said Reno.

When Pedro saw Andre that just come out from his shooting shoot area, he asks, “How much is your scores, newbie?”

“I got 90% points.” Answered Andre.

“Haaaa… ah… I am jealous with rich people! Learning shooting on school huh!” Said Pedro.

“Pedro!! Watch your manners. Ok new boy, with those scores, train Miss Latisha to shoot, and when you guys practice your shooting skill, I and Pedro will making schedule for our guarding shifts.” Said Reno.

“Reno? What should I do? I’m very nervous.” Said Latisha. Right now, she is in car with Reno, there are on the way to Departize Restaurant, it looks like Reno had arranged Latisha to meet Toni, so Latisha can move forward with the plan.

“Relax Miss Latisha, he will take the bait on this first meeting, because he is very fond of pretty girls.”

“Reno, your words are so nice, you are saying I’m pretty girl to make me not nervous again, aren’t you?”

“But Miss, I’m saying that because it’s a fact, so no need to tell my words are nice. I’m a gangster, ‘so nice’ isn’t a perfect word for me.”

“Reno, you’re a cool gangster. I am so happy for the first meeting you that accompanying me, not Pedro.”

“Yes because I know Pedro will be rather careless on the first meeting.”

“You’re a good advisor, Reno. And please I’m already told you, don’t call me Miss, call me Latisha, because I want you to be my friend.”

“Sorry I’m late Mr. Antonio.” Said Latisha with princess smile.

“Oh it’s ok Miss. I know all women in the world always using all their times to dressing and make up. You are late to come, but you look fabulous so I forgive you.” Said Toni. 

“Oh thank you Mr. Antonio. You are a big and kind heart guy.”

“Ohh… nah, nah,” Said Toni with moving his first finger, “Don’t call me Mr. Antonio, call me Toni, and can I call you Latisha, Miss Latisha.”

“Hahaha…, you are already calling me Latisha, Mr. Toni, oops Toni, it is.”

“Hahaha… Yea, I’m already calling you Latisha, you’re really funny. I like you.” Said Toni. Suddenly Toni holds Latisha’s hands, with softly Latisha pulls off her hands and with fast move, she grabs and hold Restaurant menu.

Toni feels shame, because Latisha rejects his hands, but the rejection makes Toni more interest to Latisha, “So what menu will be good for us to eat at this lovely evening? Any idea Latisha?”

“If you want to follow my idea, you won’t have a full dinner, because in night time, I will choose salad for keeping my weight.”

“Hahaha… Yea, if I following your menu, I won’t get enough sleep.”

“Oh… Why is it?” Ask Latisha.

”Because, when I don’t have enough eating, my stomach will keep on grumbling, and it will make me can’t sleep. You know there is a poem said, ’Enough eating means enough sleep.’ I am having enough sleep when my stomach full.” Said Toni with innocent face.

“Hahaha… Well said, well said.” Latisha laughs. But in her mind, suddenly she scares, because the guy that she faced now, ‘It’s an experience guy.’ And she knows by the way he answers, Toni is a slippery guy, guy that always using his brain on any circumstances, and with that brain, I won’t questioning anymore why he becomes slippery gangster leader.

“Latisha? Latisha? Why you suddenly become quiet?”

“Ahh… no, I just thinking about something?” said Latisha confusedly.

“What are you thinking?” Suddenly Toni’s mobile phone rings, “Sorry, but I think I must receive this phone call.”

“Ohh… just receive it then.”

“Thanks.” Toni says hello to the phone, and about two minutes, he just hearing voice through the phone. Suddenly at minute three, his face become serious and looks so angry. Latisha shocks when she sees Toni’s angry expression, that expression is the expression when someone wants to kill someone.

But within two minutes, after he ends the call, his face become kind again, “Latisha sorry, I think I must go to settling something, thanks for this lovely evening. I am hoping, we can arrange for the next dinner.”

“Where are you going, Toni?”

“Uhmm… I can’t tell you.”

“Why? So it’s just only my own thinking that you just think of me as your friend, but now I think I’m wrong…” said Latisha with sad expression.

“I am going to settle something at one from my own Casino.”

“Casino… Ohh… You have casinos. Can I go with you? I am always curious what is gambling place looks like, what are inside it.” 

“Listen Latisha. Casino isn’t an appropriate place for a girl like you to visit.”

“But Toniiiii…. Pleaseeee….. I really want to go there, pleaseee…”

“But I can’t guarantee you can be safe there.”

“I have Reno, he will take care of me.” Said Latisha smiling, “Pleasee….”

Toni breaths in and breaths out, he gives up and he answers, “Ok, you can come. I will make you as my important guest, after I finish settling something there.”

“It looks like you enjoying the game.” Asked Reno when they on the car, they are on the way to one from Toni’s casino, “Are you really want to visit enemy base so much? It means you are playing with your own life.”

“Reno… It isn’t like you think.”

“So what I must think now?”

“Don’t think anything.”

Reno looks on Latisha face, and he sees worried face on it, “If you are worried so much, why you decided to visit Toni’s casino. And after I saw your worried expression, you are telling me, ‘Don’t think anything.’”

“Yes, I am really worried right now, and I don’t know what I do is right or not? Uhmm… You know why I am deciding to come to the enemy base?”

“Why?”

“Uhmm...”

“Why you like ‘Uhmm-ing” so much?”

“If I do this uhhmmm-ing so much, it means I am on shy mode.”

“Shy mode?”

“Yea… Ah Reno, don’t keep questioning ok?”

“Oh ok.”

“Just ok!? And you are not going to questioning me anymore?”

“Yea, if you don’t want to be ask by me again.”

“Arghzzz… Do you really don’t want to know why I come to the enemy base?”

“If you don’t want to tell me, I will stop asking.”

“Ahh… Ok, ok I am lost. I will tell you why.”

“Don’t need to.”

“I am already told you I will explain why I come to enemy base! So listen to me ok!”

“Ok.”

“The reason I come to the enemy base, because I want to know what is casino? I haven’t gone to casino before in my life, so this is my first time I am going to visit place called casino.” Said Latisha with embarrass face.

“Ohh… Sorry to hear that.” Said Reno with cool expression.

“Just sorry and ohh?”

“So what do you want to say about it?” Said Reno still with cool expression.

“Don’t say anything! You are already talking much for a guy named Reno!”

“Ok, I will shout my mouth now, and don’t worry I will protect you there. It’s my duty to protect you.” Said Reno

“Because today is your shift?” Asked Latisha.

“Yes.” Said Reno.

After Reno saying yes, the conversation between them has stop, and Latisha thinking on her mind, ‘I just meet him and talk much with him today, but why when he answered it’s his duty, why I am so sad and angry? Ahh… maybe my worriless making me have that kind of feeling, I… don’t know what I must do now, my mind becomes blank. God please protects me on Toni’s place later.

“We are arrive Miss Latisha.”

“Please wait here, I will accompany you to play after I finish settling my casino internal problem.”

“Ok.” After Toni goes to his casino office, “Reno, can you teach me how to gambling?” Said Latisha smiling.

“Damn!! How she can went from here, I am already told you how many times we must keep her within this one month, she will make me win with her talent on dividing good cards for me and divide bad cards to Felipe!!” Toni yelled and hit the table hard.

“It looks like Felipe is doing something with her.”

“Ahh!! Bastard!! You must find her replacement right now, train her well within this one month!! Shoot the guard that letting her escape!! Now get out!! Why your guys can’t work well and only can piss me off!! Shit!!”

“I will go now then.”

“Wait! Go find a girl named Latisha Raymond in our casino, and bring her here.”

“Ok.”

“You can’t come in!” Said the door guard.

“He comes with me, if he can’t come in, I won’t come in too!” Said Latisha defends Reno.

“What is the matter, why I hear a yelling in front of my door!!” Toni yelled and opens the door to see what is happening in front of his door.

“Boss, this guy wants to enter your room too.” Said the door guard.

“Toni, he is my bodyguard. I am paying him a lot for this job, so he must always beside me.” Said Latisha with angry tone.

“Ohh… sure, he can come in with you. Come, come, sorry for this, he is an idiot door guard, so just ignore him, ok.” When Latisha and Reno come in to Toni’s office, Toni said to his door guard, “You’re fired! Don’t come again tomorrow!”

“But Boss…”

“Go now!! Or you want me to shoot your head!!”

“Ok, I will go now…”

After that Toni enters his office, “You can sit on the couch. Want to drink vodka Latisha?”

“I think I pass. At casino before, I am already drinking a lot.” Said Latisha refuse.

“Ok then. So are you having fun in my casino?”

“Yea, I am having fun in your casino, thank you for letting me to come into your casino.”

“So what kind of games that you like here?”

“I like roulette, poker, but…”

“But?”

“But I like black jack game very much.” Said Latisha with widely smile, “It’s very an interesting game, I keep guessing what card I will get next.”

“Yea, I agree, black jack is a fascinating game. I like black jack game too, so we are in same hobby, same hobby means we have same thinking, so maybe we can be a good couple in the future.”

“Couple?” Asked Latisha with confuse that she made off.

“Yea, couple. What I mean is even this is a first time I meet you, but I think I am falling in love with you. I know this is very strange, I keep thinking about this matter, but I think I am really really falling in love with you. You’re funny, smart, and beautiful. So I want you to be my future wife.” Now Toni sits close next to Latisha.

Latisha scares with this situation, but she keeps act cool, “Future wife? Hahaha….”

“Why you laughed? I am serious in this matter.” Said Toni with angry tone that he made off.

“Oh sorry, sorry, but this is very instant like you making coffee, and you don’t know if that coffee will making you have stomachache or not? You don’t know me well, we just meet and this is the first time we meet, and how can you be sure, I am a perfect woman to be your future wife? I just arrive on this town, but I already know you are a playboy and I don’t want marry to a playboy.” Said Latisha smiling to Toni.

“So you refuse me? Yes, the gossip is true, I am a playboy, but I am willing to change for you Latisha… I will be a loyal man to you.” Said Toni with sad tone.

“I don’t refuse you. We still have a lot of times to getting known each others.”

“So you still give me a chance for marrying you?”

Latisha becomes quiet and with little bit doubt she nods to Toni.

“Oh… Your last reaction makes me so happy. Thank you Latisha for your chance. I will use my time well.”

Toni wants to hold Latisha hands again, but with fast reaction Latisha says, “I want to play black jack game again at your casino, can I go to the black jack table now?”

“If you like black jack game a lot, I will take you to see the biggest black jack game at end of this month, I am sure you will like it a lot.”

“Really!! Oh it will be nice. I can’t wait for it. I will learn everyone tactics there, so I can always win at black jack game.”

“Please don’t always win…”

“Why?”

“Because if you always win, my casino will be bankrupt.”

And then Latisha and Toni laughing together and go to the casino to have crazy gambling.

“You did it, but why you scare?”

“Reno… this first time I can protect myself from him, but I’m not sure can I make it until end of the month…”

“Relax… Pedro and I will always protect you.”

“I know you and Pedro will protect me, but still there is a big doubt in my heart, I am sure he will use a lot of ways to make me sleep with him, I am so scared when I get near him, now he is kind and good, but who know he will forcing me to do anything that I wont do.”

Reno sees Latisha shivering, “I promise anything won’t be happen to you. Pedro is a careless guy, so from now on I will be your personal bodyguard, Pedro already have job to guard Papa anyway. I mean my boss. But Pedro is a professional shooter, he is more expert than me, he has fast reaction and can shoot right on the target, but I…”

“But I don’t need a professional shooter!! I need an advisor!! Look, you know I have shivering before, and you know I am in worried and scared condition, and with your saying you are promise that you will always protect me, the shivering little bit gone.”

Reno can’t answer anything, “We already arrive at your house now, Miss. Just have hot bath and sleep well, everything will be ok, I promise.”

“Thank you Reno for sending me home.” Latisha comes down from the car, and looks into car mirror, Reno pressing button ‘Car Window Down’.

“You’re welcome Miss.” Reno want to press ‘Car Window Up’ but Latisha yells with sad tone, “Please don’t call me Miss, please call me Latisha, and I really really want you to be my friend, Reno….”

“Ok Latisha, see you tomorrow.” Reno press ‘Car Window Up’ and drive his car to Felipe house with doubting mind, ‘Can I protect her from Toni? No doubting anymore Reno, you must protect her with all your life, because she… I’m not sure but I found her very beautiful. Reno, how can you think she is beautiful? She isn’t yours, her heart already has someone else and you can’t win from him. So Reno you must forget and lock your heart on this matter.’

“So you will still guarding Latisha on these several weeks?” Ask Pedro.

“Yes, so taking care Papa is you’re responsible for these several weeks.” Answer Reno.

“Reno, you must taking good care of her, you’re already know what kind of guy Toni is…” Said Andre.

“I know, no need to telling me what I must do because I am already know there isn’t any good thing that can be happen when we getting near to Toni.” Answer Reno.

“I don’t understand, why he taking the bait so fast, and how come he trusts Latisha to come to the game, I can’t follow what on his mind?” Ask Andre.

“I think he just like pretty woman, that’s why he allows Latisha to come to the game, he just wants to show up to everyone.” Said Pedro.

Two weeks after it.

“My ball flew that way.” Said Latisha pointing her first finger to right side from the golf field. Latisha and Toni on the golf field, they are playing golf right now.

“Ohh… then let’s we search the ball together.”

When they arrive on the place, suddenly Toni grabs Latisha shoulder, and kiss Latisha passionately. Latisha struggles to escape from Toni, but Toni has more strength than she is.

“Please let me go Toni...” Latisha begs.

“Why I must let you go Latisha, I love you, so I doing this.” Said Toni.

“If you love me, you won’t force me like this.”

“Ok, I won’t force you, but will you marry me after the black jack game.”

“I will marry you, if you can win the game.”

“So just that your request?”  Toni asked.

“Yes…” Said Latisha with small tone, actually that small tone picturing she is afraid. But Toni thinks Latisha just shy to say.

“Hahahaha… so you just shy with my act?”

“Yes, I am…”

“I like you, hahahaha… I like you…. Then you must be ready to marry me, because I always win any kind of games.”

“Miss Latisha! I was looking for you anywhere, so you’re here!” Said Reno. He looks exhausted.

“Reno? What happen?” Ask Latisha.

“Your mom just called me, she said you must come home now, because your father unconscious.”
