The illustration of my past battles with insomnia
Intro: This will most likely be the last time I post something I wrote a long while ago, but I personally enjoy this concept and plan on exploring it more in the future. These two paragraphs were written about a year ago in reference to having a difficult time sleeping due to a rotating shift schedule at my former job. While they share the sandman-battle-concept, they were not written at the same time, so they don't flow into one another.

Fuck you sandman for my sleepless rest. A simple gesture, but rest assured, I'd give two thirds of my dreams to get even one full night's rest, for sure. A little certainty couldn't hurt any, but plagued by the absence, well...your absence, has me begging for relief to relax, but I get much less. You are relentless, steadily dodging my please from my pillow top mattress. I thought I paid my dues, but you're rent-less. Please tell me what's the price because I'm desperate.

Yea go ahead, sandman. Try and sabotage my daydreams! I see you stay scheming; it seems even thought it isn't dark, your work won't be through until I stop breathing. Even if my lips were sealed my words would be heard loud and clear in any day or any season. So please quit the bullshit, because no sleepless hour sours any one of my numerous reasons for breathing. Sorry if my existence causes a rainy day on your parade. You are looking a little pissed off at my thoughts, but I'm just painting pictures in shades of gray.
