Summer:

            “Hey! Hey, wait up! Come-on, for Christ’s sake, stop!” yelled a young girl running after the garbage truck. Unfortunately for her, the truck went on its way, leaving her panting in the middle of the road. She ran her hands through her sweat streaked strands and let out a huge sigh. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a racer back top. She caught hold of the black garbage bags and started towards her house.

“Third time this week eh Hazel?” asked an old man grinning at her. Hazel let out an exasperated sigh.

“Yes Mr. Williams, third time this week.”

Hazel dumped the bags into the can and went inside her house. She lay down on the sofa for a while and then gave up and decided to go and take a shower. The summer heat was too much to bear. She undressed and went into the bathroom. As the cool water of the shower hit her auburn hair, she closed her eyes and started to recall the day’s events so far. She had woken up late, tripped over her own feet and missed the garbage truck. Again, as her neighbor Mr. Williams had rightly pointed out, third time that week. The ringing of the hallway phone brought her back. She ran out without covering herself and picked up the phone.

“Hello?” asked Hazel. A drop of water rolled down her back, making her realize that she was naked. The voice on the other side answered “Hey love!”

As soon as she heard the voice a chill went up her spine and there were goose bumps on her skin. The voice continued, “I missed you a lot babe. I’m coming home tonight and a surprise for you.” Hazel was silent.

“What’s wrong babe? Is everything okay? Why aren’t you saying anything?” Hazel started to cry. “Oh David!”

“What happened Hazel? Are you hurt?” David clenched his teeth at the word hurt.

“No Dave, it’s not that. It’s just that,” she took in a deep breath, “I’m missing you so much. It’s been so long since I last saw you. So long since the last time you held me in your arms. I’ve been messing up everything Dave. I…I…,” she broke into a fresh sob.

“There there love, It’s alright everything is going to be alright.” The voice was no longer coming from the phone. It was coming from behind her. She felt a pair of strong arms embrace her from behind and warmth spread throughout her.



David turned Hazel so that she could see him. She nestled in his arms for a while before he lowered his hands to her waist.

“Were you expecting me? You seem all armed and fabulous.”

Hazel blushed. “No I was just taking a shower and…” Before she could continue, his lips came down on hers as he slowly pushed her against the wall. She could feel the desire in her building up. She pulled his hair with her left hand while her right hand was wrapped around his neck. His hands moved down to her hips and left breast. She let out a low moan. Still kissing they entered her bedroom. The curtains were drawn and the room was dimly lit. He laid her down on the bed and looked at her for a few seconds before she started to undress him.

They were together for six years now and it had been a year since she had last seen him. Neither of them could hold themselves back and neither did they want to.

She got up and pushed him onto the bed. Her green eyes twinkled as she slowly went down on him. He loved her touch and wanted more. He could feel her lips on his erection, kissing it and her tongue rolling over the tip exciting her more. Then he slowly pulled her up to his lips. She kissed him with enthusiasm; their lips dancing in synchronization. He caressed her breasts lightly and then started to kiss them. He slowly kissed her pink nipples and bit them lightly to excite her. She pulled him closer. After he had his fill of her breasts, he started kissing her stomach and slowly moved down as she moaned with pleasure. She wrapped her legs around his shoulders.

He penetrated into her entrails and their bodies did amazing things when they met. They moved in synchronization, rocking back and forth as her moans excited him. She was his woman and he wanted to please her and satisfy her. She wrapped her arms around his strong muscular shoulders and pulled him closer to her.

Her whole body shivered when she felt him climax in her and she felt herself spasm.

Hazel lay in David’s arms while he kissed her lightly on her forehead. Tears rolled down her eyes.

“I missed you so much Dave. It was terrible. I can’t even explain how it was without you.”

David kissed away her teardrops. “I know exactly what you mean love, but everything is going to be fine now. I’m back”

Hazel embraced him tightly. “I love you babe.”

“I love you too darling. I wish I could lie here this way forever.” She looked at him surprised.

“But you can stay here, as long as you want. You know that don’t you?” asked Hazel.



“I know but no one knows that I’m back. I wanted to see you first. I need to go down to my parents’ place but that can wait. I want to lie in your arms for a few more hours. I want to hold you close to me.” Her face immediately brightened up.

“Tell me about your trip. How was it? I want to know everything.”

David smiled. She was still the same Hazel he had first met in the tenth grade. He had gone away for a year for job purposes and they had to stay apart for that period. Even the daily phone calls could never satisfy their need for each other.

“It’s a long story love. Why don’t you get some sleep and we’ll talk when we get up.” Hazel gave a small yawn and slowly went off to sleep in his arms. David looked at her. She looked so beautiful and innocent when she slept. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. Never the less he was exhausted owing to the long journey and their recent activity. He chuckled at his own thought and soon fell asleep with her. She stirred a bit, opened her eyes and saw that he had fallen asleep. She smiled and fell asleep again as she nestled in his arms.

The sun was setting when they woke up. Time had flown by. Both David and Hazel got dressed and he kissed her goodnight and promised to return later that night. Before leaving he asked her once again, “are you sure that you don’t want to come with me to meet mom and dad?”

Hazel thought for a minute and then replied, “You know what Dave, I’ll come along. Give me two minutes. I’ll just fix my hair.”

“That’s my girl. I love you honey. Come fast.”

When she went to change, suddenly David's phone rang.

"Hello? I told you not to call me now. I'm back home. I'll talk later on."

He kept the phone and gave a sigh. He had a very close call.
