Five poems from a poetry book I wrote.
              Isolation

Isolation is black-hole black.
It tastes like water.
It sounds like voices in the dark.
It smells like the outdoors.
It looks like the night sky,
And it makes me feel wistful.

                      Black

Black is the color of the night,
Which calms my shattered mind.
Black is the beginning,
Where we come from.
Black is the end,
When we have nothing.
Black is the sky,
Which washes away the bad.
Black is my life,
Mixing all colors.
Black is everything.
Black is nothing.

              Night

I’ve been waiting all day-
Cannot rush-
The sun will not let me.
I have to fight for every inch.
But finally I have arrived,
And she is there waiting.

I watch her with many eyes
While she talks, when she cries.
I am there for her, every night.
But the day pushes me past.
I listen to her breathe, hear her
Heartbeat; it speeds when the man
Is with her those nights.

I want to tell her,
But humans can’t hear my voice.
I want to warn her:
The man is a liar.
I have seen what he has done;
Neither woman will be pleased.

The other woman finds out first-
I see her plot;
I watch her succeed.
I watch her as she chases
My love away,
And the day pushes me away

Months have passed.
My search is futile.
When I have no will left,
I find her, alone again.
She is on the other side of
The world, but she still can’t hear my voice,
So I watch her. That’s all that’s left.

Frozen

The day had frozen over your bare skin.
The night had frosted your blind eyes.
No one has stayed for you now, not your kin,
But I’ve stayed and watched as your spirit flies.
You would have left me, but I am still here.
You have made the distance between us vast,
But in my heart and yours I will be near,
Though you acted cold to me in the past.
All you did for me in the past was take.
Just made them your tools, my heart and my soul.
Now your heart is frozen, like a small lake.
And where my heart was is a giant hole.
I am nearly at my limit; I’m done
The metal weight on my chest is a ton

Thoughts

Late night, alone
Even with people around.
The moon had risen.
The sun had set, and
The day had ended.

Thinking thoughts that thieve
Common sense from me.
The feeling never leaves,
The impractical daydreams, but
The day had ended.

I search my soul,
Alone and slipping.
I see the cracks,
But do nothing, for
The day had ended.

The thoughts, swirl in the
Whirlpool of emotions in my mind.
Sad and elated, happy and hapless.
I fall asleep because
The day had ended.
