Silent Tears

Tears are silent as they fall
they embrace the ground and then
whisper sweetly as eminently
they drop and make not a sound,

Tears scream as loud and clear
from the heart within
As alone we watch them disappear
and wipe them away again.

Who can know the pain and woe
as tears appear and fall away again
Each one that falls I'm reminded of you
who shed tears of joy for days on end.

For days you have endured and suffered through
all alone with fate sealed in your heart
The times when you were lonely and yet
you dared not turn away lest you depart.

I watched them one by one as silently they came
and rested on your lovely face with a smile
The beauty of the world could be said to be
found in those tears you shed for a little while.

The tears that came will fall no more, they are silent now
and when they are overcome they'll be tears no more
Replacing the ones shed when you were here
and be forgotten when seated on the other shore
