Poetry from when my mind couldn't manage paragraphs.
Purpose

What purpose do I serve?
No nations heed my words
No church knows my name
Obscurity surrounds me
Yet, a purpose remains
My smile warms a heart
That heart touches another
The other continues in kind
Love covers the world
What greater purpose could I serve?

Sunrise Too Late

Sun hide no more
Chase away the dark
The moon reigns too long
My soul writhes in shadow
I ache for light, for warmth
At last, dim rays break
But, I am gone
Sunrise too late

Hope

If not today, tomorrow
I will succeed
Clouds separate
A rainbow glows
Light breaks dark
No gloom remains
A goal reached
Happiness reigns
Success obtained
If not today, tomorrow

Sorrow of Loss

Fear not foul deeds
The soul goes untouched
Fleeting pain
Longevity denied
Tears cease
Memory fades
Wounds heal
Emotions calm
Time serves a purpose
The spirit lives on

The Battle

Ripping, tearing, gouging
Blades ravish the flesh
Pain grips the spirit
Blood sprays the air
Red cape flapping wildly
Chin jutting with pride
The spirit rejoices
Cheers fill the air

The World

Smile
The world waits
Laugh
The world moves on
Cry
The world sighs
Frown
The world disappears

Road to Home

Fate shows the end
Love guides the journey
Hate breaks the path
Faith is a beacon
Hope leads to home
