Nature’s Treasure



The flowers of the valley

All vibrant in the light

Are dashes of bright colors

Red, yellow, blue, and white

But in that verdant palette

Of full voluptuous blooms

There is a tiny flower

Small, humble, still unplumed



It has yet to show its beauty

To embrace the sun’s sweet light,

But with love and care and nurture,

It will happen over night



One minute it’s nothing but a bloom

Full of promise, what’s to be

Then in not even a second,

It’s nature’s treasure, like nothing you’ll ever see



And in this life of chaos,

With its darkness and its plight,

It’s wonders such as this

That makes the world all right.



So take in its sweet scent,

Admire its bold hue,

For this flower is a masterpiece

That was made for me and you.
