Dreaming of a world where all is changed, maybe lost. But on awakening, all is the same
What If?

What if the sun and moon rose in the west?
Suppose Earth had a ring, like Saturn and the rest.
If rivers flowed upstream; maybe tides never changed?
Or we lived the same day, over and over again.

What if unicorns grazed over flat grass plains?
If we didn’t drive cars, but rode everywhere on trains.
Maybe air is water for us to breathe,
And fish walk the land like you and me.

Would all this mean that I never met you?
Would it mean that all we know is untrue?
That our precious love would not exist,
Could our world be the same; would we live in a mist.

If I lost your love, lost you as my mate.
This is the world I’d know, and would be my fate.
I'm totally lost without you in my life,
I’d never know what love is really like.

Thank God we have this world that we see,
For everything I know spells L-O-V-E.
Thank God we met and found love so strong,
We’re rich beyond belief, our love can’t be wrong.

My mind is at ease for the sun rose in the East.
At first wakening, on you my eyes did feast.
Outside the rivers still flow downstream,
I know that once again, it was all a dream.
