I Dream, .... ( a POEM

.....Writing and Poetry
I dream of a place
where I can be free
a place with no drama
a place to just be

working so hard
but not getting real far
not even enough
for a dependable car

feeding the kids
so many have less
why did he do this
leave me in a mess

I gave him my all
just to start all again
thank God for the release
of my pad and my pen

Hanging on to faith
praying for my own place
A drama free zone


the rhyme that releases
relief from my pain
that always comes blind
when most under strain

I do not want much
just a small place of my own
to safely lay my head
leave to my kids when grown

All the hard work in my life
For love was all taken away
yet so many have less
So for them I must pray

I will be okay
I am strong and alive
it has to get better
the kids must thrive

Hanging on by a thread
God still has my back
Thank God for my faith
one thing I don't lack

Keeping my head up
trying to always stand strong
Keep on my game face
While slowly moving along

The world if you let it
will tear you apart
Thank God for my faith
I still have my heart

Enough of myself
I have been selfish indeed
So many have less
We must let go of our greed

This recession getting worse
Good people loosing it all
We must all ban together
Or together we will all fall

I am luckier than most
Strong and have pride
Enough crying for me
I will stand by your side

I will make a vow again
To be Humanity's wife
I will have faith for all of us
I will commit my life

A soldier for the streets
for all of my fellow man
I only want you to join me
You need not be my fan

For all those in the struggle
Help even just one
Do not turn your back
Do not turn and run

I am loading up my gun
I am prepared for the fight
To bring light to the others
though I too cry in the night

We are all in this together
So take someones hand
Together we can do it
Decide where you stand

Yet let no one dare again
To no more abuse will I agree
A soldier must take care
or I can not set others free

On the front lines
where no woman should be
at least not this woman
yet for you I paid the fee

The example of everything
Has to also take care
Yet continue to inspire
Urge you to take the dare

Help even just one person
together we can make a chain
We are all linked one at a time
Let us put and end to the pain
