A poem about the type of man I need. |
I took time to understand how I love, Reconsidered everything I felt a real relationship consisted of. Changed the qualities I looked for in a man, Figured out how he would fit into my life plan. I have a better understanding, And I’m not so demanding. Now, I know what type of man I need, In order for my next relationship to succeed. Someone who understands that family is important to me, A man who knows how to agree to disagree. Is willing to work with me as a team, We can help build each other’s self-esteem. I have a better understanding, And I’m not so demanding. Now, I know what type of man I need, In order for my next relationship to succeed. Avoids all the drama the haters try to bring our way, Tries not to give each other a reason to stray. I know we’re not going to be perfect, But we’re not going to have arguments that require disrespect. I have a better understanding, And I’m not so demanding. Now, I know what type of man I need, In order for my next relationship to succeed. Have open communication so that we stay on the same page, Enough freedom to where we don’t feel as if we’re in a cage. Understands the value and true meaning of the words “I Love You,” Have an agreement to always stay true. I have a better understanding, And I’m not so demanding. Now, I know what type of man I need, In order for my next relationship to succeed. Someone who loves to have fun, And is secure without a gun. Loves to watch sports and is good with technology, Know what things and situations deserve an apology. I have a better understanding, And I’m not so demanding. Now, I know what type of man I need, In order for my next relationship to succeed. |
