death, avoiding it
I killed someone today
Not literally, but in an even worse way
I crushed their hopes and all their dreams
For them, there's no point in living it seems

There's no hope in fixing it
I know it's my job, but I've quit

So now I'm playing peek-a-boo with fate
Trying to avoid I and Death's date

But Death can look; he'll never find me
I am invisible here, though ropes and chains bind me

So what if it's dangerous, Death and me at peek-a-boo?
You see, at least I'm keeping him from jumping out at you
