anything, really
I stand by this door I can't open
held back by every step
I wish that I could move on
But you are all that I have left

Sometimes the pain is too much too bear
Sometimes I wish that I was dead
This I actually want to win
But in this race you are ahead

'Be careful' you once said
'Be on your guard' you told me
'Of this outside world'
But I was just too carefree

I stand by this door I can't open
Held back by every step
I wish that I could move on
But you are all that I have left

It is the time between day and night
The sun is setting in the sky
You look into my eyes
And you say goodbye

You were the reason for my life
I'm astounded; I can't speak
I sit on top of the fence
A tear rolls down my cheek

I stand by this door I can't open
Held back by every step
I wish that I could move on
And maybe I can, now that you've left
