This is about The Almost's Sophomore album.
[Introduction]
Become a Monster
By Peter Shirley
Feature Editor

“I’m sick of this monster monster,” is the first line of the song “Monster Monster” by The Almost. Like many albums, this is also the title of The Almost’s sophomore (second) album. Monster Monster came out on November 3.
This album is not like any other I have seen before. Usually when a band comes out with an EP (extended play) it is alone. The Almost made a new deal that if you purchased the EP in between October 26- November 2; you get not only the EP, but also a blank disk accompanied by a promotional code to download the album when it comes out (this is for the actual record, not the EP).
Monster Monster features 12 songs (sharing three of the five songs from the EP.) The top two most played to songs on their MySpace page are “Monster Monster,” and “Lonely Wheel.” Coincidentally these are the two first songs on the album.
The Almost is a Christian band classified under Alternative Punk and Emo Punk. I enjoyed this cd very much. The atmosphere that this album gives is upbeat and lively, while still keeping strong and giving emotion to the listener. It makes me want to just rock out and not care who is watching.
I would give this album four out of five stars. If you are up by a Hot Topic, I would recommend you pick up a copy because it is rockin’.
