The Stillness of Love

Why does this pain stay?
Each day but a river of tears
And this my memory stained with fears.

Forever you and I was our bond
But now only the slowness of days
Upon what seems the stillness of time?

Gone the warmth of your touch
Replaced by the coldness of falling dust
I hear you sometimes within the wind
But when I turn all I feel is that of hidden wings.

I know you are there in the midnight hour
Counting each breath I take
I want to open my eyes and catch you in sacred gaze
But I do not dare!

For every second that you stay
Is home for this my broken soul
Hold me close and let me dream of that our lost love
“I miss you so much!”
