a teenager deals with prenancy
My name is Alyssa bennet 1’m 18 years old. My son Elijah is now three years old. He was a blessing to me, but he was a total surprise. My whole life changed the day my son was born. This is my story.
It was a fateful day for me the day that I met Lucas James. Lucas was a senior in my high school. he paid special attention to me I was a freshmen and I was happy that a senior was paying so much attention to me. We began to date. he seemed like a nice guy I was certain that I would spend my whole life with. What I didn’t know was that I was just another one of his girlfriends. The night that my son was conceived I got drunk with Lucas and one thing led to another and we had sex. Lucas told me that he had worn a condom and I believed him. A few weeks later I hadn’t gotten my period so I took a pregnancy test. It was a positive test. I froze in fear that was my greatest fear that I would become pregnant at the age of 15. I couldn’t tell my parents so who could I tell? Well I told my best friend Katrina. I thought that this secret would stay between the two of us but soon the whole school knew that I was having a baby by Lucas. When I finally told Lucas he denied that he was the father of my child. I was booted out of my school and all of my friends turned their backs on me. I was made to go to Washington county family center. It was a school for pregnant teenagers. Elijah was born on June 16, 2007. He was 8 lbs. 9 oz. when I held my baby in my arms I realized that I was responsible for another human being. It was no longer just Alyssa it was Alyssa and Elijah. I continue to take care of my son. It isn’t an easy task being a mother I mean. There are many late nights and lots of money to spend on diapers and clothes. I urge girls thinking of getting pregnant to think about my story raising a child on your own is never easy
