A deep and heart-felt sonnet that gives a glimpse into my heart. |
| A light, a light, piercing the dark of night, Through cloud and storm, none shine as true as you. ‘Tis only her my eyes behold in light, Beauty unmatched, not another in view, Like a flower so sweet ripe on the vine, It is her perfume that makes my heart sing. My heart a castle, take it and be mine, And only joy unto you will it bring. Her joyous song sings my heart’s desire, A longing that burns, burning deep within. Her eyes that sparkle lift me ever higher, So long, so far, to have you as my own. I wish, I wish upon the brightest star, A prize to keep dear, so near, she so far. |
