my heart goes out to all, trapped, alone and scared in Haiti
"In a Tomb Where I don't Want to Die"

My little hand reached up for help, to God,
how did I get here? Where am I?
I hear voices, but are they angels?
It is dark here now, and alone.
I don't want to die, please help.
I've only lived ten years,
mother and father were good,
but where are they now?

My legs are small, and now pinned,
into concrete that once held pictures on the wall.
Where I walked and played all day,
into a kitchen with food.
I am hungry now, left here all alone,
Hear me if you can God,
I am all alone.
Tell mom and dad, I am here.

I don't want to die, please help,
I know you care, so where are you?
I wanted to grow up and be someone.
But I hear the others cry too,
all through the night.
And I am scared God, hold my hand.
I just wanted to grow up,
I will wait until it's light.

I'm just a little girl Father,
and where is mom and dad?
They were just in the other room,
I know I wasn't bad.
Can you see me here, alone,
and thinking of you now?
In this place I don't want to be,
alone here in a crowd.

S A Gibbins  I pray for all you in Haiti
