New Year's resolutions aren't always kept - but alway's important. (Form: Dorsimbra)
Resolutions (2010)

A transient rhythm sweeps the clock's face,
shadowed hands marking the passage of time.
A decade dawns anew as we embrace
it's offerings packaged in hopes sublime.

"This year!"
Promises written in spider silk
that glisten in the sunrise
only to shred under reality's winds.

And yet the trusting heart knows from the start
that each vow we spoke, before it's been broke,
gives the strength it has to what will be as
a transient rhythm sweeps the clock's face.

Prompt: Write a poem using the Dorsimbra form.
Dorsimbra is a set form of three stanzas of four lines each:
Stanza One: Four lines of Shakespearean sonnet (iambic pentameter rhymed abab).
Stanza Two: Four lines of short and snappy free verse.
Stanza Three: Four lines of iambic pentameter blank verse, where the last line repeats the first line of Stanza One.
There's an internal rhyme attempt (not required but allowed by the form).

Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise *Smile* - are all equally welcome.
