What would the world be like, without reason, justice and thought? Like this |
When inspirarion is a dream and thoughtfulness, a crime. Freedom there will never be thus hospitality declines. Prayer is just a word and faithfulness is gone. When intelligence means nothing and there's no beauty left at dawn. Friendships crumble as morality declines. Some corrupted figureheads say, "Well everything's just fine." As fatality rates go up and peace gets left behind somewhere there is the truth that no one will ever find. Reason becomes treason and kindness is a flaw It will shock one to discover that they've done away with law. When what's right becomes conspiracy and for justice there's no fight. security, and purity will not save us from out plight. When lies run rampant and honesty is disturbed That's where you'll find me with my virtues undeterred. There was a body in the gutter, and a blood stain in the street. She was once a friend of mine, that I guess you'll never meet. My neighbor's house caught fire and my cousin, well she was mugged My best friends dog was stolen and we found out it was drugged. My uncle passed away and my grandmother cried It just makes me wonder, "How many others died?" I find out that I am next I jolt awake with a scream I lie alert and think "Thank god it was just a dream." |
