A TRUE STORY
AS I SIT AND THINK OF DAYS GONE BY,
AND REMEMBER OUR LIFE AS ONE.
I REMEMBER THE DAY YOU WALKED THE AISLE
MY WIFE YOU WOULD BECOME

ONLY A SHORT TWO MONTHS BEFORE,
I MET YOU IN THAT BAR.
YOU WERE SINGING FROM THE STAGE,
I ADMIRED YOU FROM AFAR

BUT I KNEW THEN, JUST AS NOW,
YOU WERE THE ONE FOR ME.
I NEEDED TO MEET YOU, SO I JUST WALKED UP
I KNEW IT WAS MEANT TO BE

NOW I LOOK BACK OVER THIRTY YEARS,
AND WONDER WHAT THE SKEPTICS WOULD SAY ?
TO KNOW WE STILL SHARE OUR LOVE
IN THAT VERY SPECIAL WAY

THEY SAID IT WOULD NEVER LAST
THEY WOULD GIVE IT MAYBE ONE YEAR
WE FOOLED THEM ALL AND HERE WE ARE.
I STILL LOVE YOU. SADIE MY DEAR.
