I am now living in a snow globe
Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood.

I few weeks ago I left work to find that the snow had been falling all afternoon. This was the first snow fall in Anchorage since I have moved up here it was also the first peaceful day that I have had since moving here. The stress of change of state, job, home and surroundings has been hard for me. The first snowfall however made me smile. It snowed all afternoon, on my way home from work I got to look at the snow covered mountians of Anchorage and just notice how magical and beautiful they are. Once I pulled into the driveway and got out of the car in the late afternoon he first thing I noticed was the silence that fell around me. Even though I live on a pretty busy street there were no street or city sounds just the silence of the snow falling on snow. I stood there under the pine tree and just was. After a few minutes the neighbors kids came outside all bundled out for the fun. The two boys ran and slid and played outside in the snow. They got along and they used their imagination to just be kids not little adults. The sounds, smells and cool air brought me back to when I had little stress in my life and the whole world opened up to whatever I wanted it to be. If I wanted to live in the north pole I could build an igloo, if I wanted to be a princess I could build a castle, if I wanted to pelt my brothers with snowballs the world was mine for the taking.
