The last garage sale of the day
Tabitha drove down the long dirt road passing a small cardboard sign that read, ‘Garage Sale’.  A small arrow on the sign pointed to a house at the top of the hill, where Tabitha could see the sun just about ready to dip below the horizon.

As she approached the large house, she noticed several cars parked in front of the home’s driveway and to the side of the dirt road.

Good, she thought.  I’m not too late.  There’s still people here.

Quickly parking behind the other cars, she walked up a brick stairway to a large garage located at the back of the house.  To Tabitha’s surprise, there was no one there, just several large boxes centered in the garage, the cardboard tops flapping in the breeze.

There was a strange odor, and the garage floor looked stained by something.

Leaky cars, she thought lifting the flap to one of the boxes.

Immediately stepping back, she placed her hand over her mouth, unsure if what she just saw was real.

Human arms and legs, it’s some kind of joke.

A man stepped out into the garage carrying an ax in his hand.
