A chat with a familiar visitor...
Good evening sir,
What brings you here?
Never mind all that,
Please sit down
Let us talk about this
Let us chat

Your visit is,
I must say,
Quite the suprise
But please, my friend,
About that later
I have many questions

Human portrayals,
Are they true?
You don't look as skinny
As they say
Please sir, tell me more
About your grave profession

Do you like movies?
I surely do
They're quite exciting
Unlike you
But that's just true,
Please don't take offense

So please explain,
Man in black
Is it my daughter
Or my wife?
My son perhaps?
Good, just as I thought.

But before that,
Talk to me
It's been so long
Since i've had coffee
Foldgers is nice
But I prefer Maxwell House

You know what's funny?
Ironic, I mean.
Is i've never talked to you
But you're so familiar
Not an enemy
Nor a friend

Did you talk like this
With Jimmy and Frank?
Good friends of mine
I'm sure you know
But some have gone
Who shouldn't have

Sally was fine, sir
In heart and head
She loved her mother
And dogs as well
I'm not criticizing
I'm just curious

I know you're just
Like one of us
Bills to pay
And checks to write
You must be busy,
So let us go

Give me a second
To put on my shoes
I know it's a short trip,
But just in case.
My grandmother taught me
To be prepared

One more question
If you'd be so kind,
I'm quite curious
About what's next.
Just a thought
Just one more second, sir

Is this the end?
Or a new chapter?
Will I start
Over again?
Or is this permanent?
I've always wondered

I see.
Okay, let's go
Lead the way
Mr. Doe
I'm ready now
To walk out the door

We'll cross the river
Or enter the gates
We'll go up or down
Just lead the way
Kind gentleman
My newest friend, my friend Death.
