True story, this really did make my day ^_^
It is interesting the things that make us smile, little moments that would otherwise go unnoticed, little glimpses into other people’s lives that leave an unexpected impression.

Picture, if you will the scene. It’s a rainy, miserable day. Enter the bus. All aboard! Grumpy faced passengers all sitting visage forward? Backs slumped? Masks on? All in order and away we go.

Stop, after stop, the numbers diminish, and then regroup, like the ebb and flow. All of them masked and silent plugged in with small dangling wires connected to pockets, bags, fists. Robotic.

Enter, stage left, a small, seemingly frail woman. Large, woolen coat strapped tightly around her middle, shrugging off the rain. Her doe eyes caused artificially by magnifying invisible rimmed spectacles and a top her head, with light reddy brown wisps stabbing out underneath a small black and red hearted hat. With the fullness of life, the light Irish trill that seems to exude “happy” she speaks to the driver, simple question. She wants a day pass. So cute she is to the audience.

The audience...One person, a teen, a girl, around seventeen I should think. And in that brief moment, there is no mask, and she pries her eyes from the window, her day dream and watches this simple scene, very simple, a somewhat mundane episode of life. And she smiles. Letting the smallest ray of happy old lady shine into her day. She wasn’t sure what made her look up, and take out the pugs, to take off the mask, and breathe….
Perhaps the battery died…
