the tree hugger

i plan to embrace the tree of Knowledge
and to drink the sap of Understanding
so when i run along the razor's edge
i will find that i am hardly landing -
to the left of me is Ignorance
(that is supposed to be "bliss")
on my right i will see Arrogance
(which i'd choose rather to miss) -
Enlightenment is straight ahead of me
(i have trained to maintain that forward sprint)
when i reach It; yes the epitome
of free, looking back through a novel tint
i will see the world as never before
and then hurry back to teach even more
