Once there was a majestic and stately unicorn
Strolling down a wooded forest lane,
Upon hearing some creature’s deep-throated scorn,
Bravely turned his fluffy white mane.
These moans came from a magical acorn,
Who, in his tattered and haunting refrain,
Said, “The most wicked evil ever’s been born,
For I’ve yet to discover my brain!”
Shocked, the unicorn smartly replied,
With innocence and not with disdain,
“Sir, you are an acorn,” and sighed,
“You acorns do not have a brain!”
The acorn rebuked him with faceless glare,
Said, “I have a quaint home under this tree,”
“I warn strangers of the fox over there,”
“And tell bears there’s fish in this stream, you see.”
The unicorn laughed, then gave his advice
To this gem of a noteworthy creature;
“Acorn, you’re certainly caring and nice,”
“And we’re lucky to have such a teacher!”
Such is the story of this unicorn and acorn,
Both tirelessly seeking new friends!
Two fairy tale creatures, trusting and sworn,
With wondrous beginnings and ends...
