About the loss and life of a dog
[Introduction]

JIMMY THE DOG

Oh my friend it’s been awhile.

I miss the look in your eyes, and I began to smile.

When I was first awake, you would yawn and moan.

It was our time to atone.

Then you begin to fuss. I love the time it was us. I scratch your back, and you listen to me as I pray

As I began to unravel about the day, words like going for a ride.

To go sees grandma was in this prayer, or maybe just going for a ride, not giving a care

13 and half years you gave me such joy.

You always will be my best friend; my boy,

I always came to you, with my problems; you couldn’t speak to give me an answer.

However, you listened and sometime a bark. Were you trying to tell me a little remark?

When I was sick, you stuck to me like glue; just like you always do.

I gave you a brother; he made you younger.

You played and tried to keep up the best that you could. It was like you two were brothers from the hood.

Two bands of brothers getting into my stuff, until I said ok that’s enough.

I remember the night, when you couldn’t move, and I began to cry. I gave you some medicine

And your brother and I lay, by you on the floor, all together. One last time, we were like glue because there was not much more we could do.

I remember the day I had to put you down, I still to this day, miss you so much; I frown.

Your ashes are where you loved to be, but your heart, soul and your memories are with me.
