Written during jazz band practice.
Twisting, turning
                  Touching, seeing
                  Hearing, whispering,
                  Tasting, wishing, singing, hoping
            Stop!

            Notes crash and grind together
I look up to his train wreck
            to find him-just imagine!
            Mouth pulled tight against rhythms
laid before him from his mind
with a road block of confusion
And I can almost taste his disappointment.
            What fails you my love?

            I lean across the table
            stroking him beneath his chin
and I really wish I could help, but,
I am useless and I silently chuckle.
Watching his blue green eyes dance
over papers and ink smudged keys
trash ridden floors and he smiles.
            And I know.

          Twisting, turning
                    Climbing, higher
                    Tasting, hearing
                    Feeling, loving, tenderly
                    As the notes climb higher
I watch as he slips into bliss.
