Decuain Form
"Invalid Item 3rd Place, Round 20, 9/30/09

Image prompt for round 20 of Pond Poetry

I saw a field of yellow flowers bloom.
They shone so bright a smile lit up my face.
Some posed for photos bright'ning up a room.
Some fed the birds when seeds would fall like lace.
They soon would die but never in disgrace.
No flower named in honor of the sun
could help but hold us all in its embrace,
and when its life and worth on earth is done,
the birds will sow its seeds in time and space
to grow a million flowers in one's place.
