This is a poem I just wrote about being friends with someone you love.
How can I?

Be as warm and as stunning as you?
I will always be in awe of your presence

Not look at you and smile?
Your radiance is beyond me and captures me completely

Think of anyone else?
When your laugh resonates throughout my life, drowning out the rest of the insignificant world

Stay away?
When every ounce of me is screaming, begging, and pleading for me to stay, just stay

Even begin to understand your choice?
Because my love for you came without an option and will continue to exist even as it is unreciprocated

Watch you with him?
It’s a pain the cuts to the core and seems never-ending

See anything ugly in your existence?
I can try to hate pieces – it’s useless

Keep this up?
A friendly love seems passionless and hopeless

Forget you?
