The Creation of a two dimensional universe described in free verse. |
Creation In the beginning, there was chaos. The Young Cosmos was a discordant jumble of squiggles and lines stretching out into infinity A fractal tapestry forever mutating and morphing and reconstituting itself jiving to the dread melodies of anarchy’s lyre without relent or respite Those swiveling shapes and curling inflexions a blur, beautiful to behold. No powers, no precepts, no principles to adhere to only Chaos, the undisputed master of space and time. At the heart of this seething madness, Chaos sits, enthroned on gyrating pillars of smoke and with fiery convulsions of light and ice fashions Spiralling entropic storms of tremendous girth cursed by Chaos to tunnel forever through the void; charged with the task of slowly deconstructing all creation and then re-building it, piecemeal, ad infinitum. balefully they upheaved great elliptical masses and cast them askew, ensnared suspended forms and wrenched them into figures anew again and again for eternities untold, whilst order slept in a vacuum untouched by the turmoil Then order Awoke, and saw the swirling disharmony and cried aloud “Let the world’s unrest be stilled. Let the hot whirlwinds be chilled” So he willed And it was For the elements ceased dancing and the bedlam quieted Chaos recoiled Order was now the Overseer of the Universe. |
