Perhaps



Maybe I was too blind

To not see those dark clouds

Cover the gold line,

The sole life giving hope I had.



Or it may be my numbness

For I did not feel

The world slipping gradually

Through my fingers.



I wonder if I was so deaf!

To never hear your

Sighs and words of disagreement

The warning – that you say

I never took heed of.



Perhaps I was simply dumb!

Since it did not occur to me then

That we were poles apart.
