A final decision at the end of time (Form: Quatern)
The Last Bridge

Image for Round 17 of Pond Poetry

At the path's end, the final span
that crosses o'er darkness to light.
A bridge of hope, not made by man,
to my eyes it's a wondrous sight.

As I approach, I hesitate
at the path's end, the final span
that bids me forward, yet I wait.
My heart has a different plan.

I choose to remain, rather than
proceed ever onward apart
at the path's end, the final span,
for patience is borne of the heart.

Time has no meaning, as I stand.
I know you'll be here when you can.
We'll walk together, hand in hand,
at the path's end, the final span.

Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise *Smile* are all equally welcome.
