BRIDE OF CHRIST

DRAMA

BY: DEANNA FLEMING

PREFORMED BY: BST DRAMA TEAM

MUSIC BY: AVALON SONG: STAND

Bride: DeAnna

Christ’s church: (denominations) Barbara

Body of Christ: (Christians) Cindy

World Concepts: (Things the church has allowed as ok) Candice

Demon of Separation:  Tammy

Demon of Conflict: Mickalah

Scene begins with the wedding march the Bride of Christ enters from the back goes to center stage. Christ’s church, the body of Christ and world concepts is already on stage. The demons are waiting in the back ground.

Bride of Christ: I am Christ’s Bride, I am supposed to be spotless and without blemish, I was created by The Father himself to be the perfect mate for his son Jesus. I was placed into this world to await my coming marriage, and now I wonder if that time shall ever come to pass.

The people of this world have marred the very image of me and have allowed evil to come into my presence.

Demons enter stage one from each side. D.o.S. moves to Christ’s Church, together they walk toward the Bride. The D.o.C. is moving around the others.

D.o.S.: (Takes Barbara, and brings her forward): I am the demon of separation. I have come to keep you apart so that the Bride will never be joined with her husband>

CC: (picks up her cards) (very boldly starts stating the different denominations first) Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Church of God, Non-denominational, Catholic, Just to name a few.

Bride: You allowed separation to come to me through your different views of what YOU thought was right and wrong.

CC: (begins placing her cards on Bride while speaking of things within the different denominations) Prayer: do we pray in silent reverence or out loud and openly? Music: Hymns, contemporary, upbeat or slow, Numbers: how many join compared to how many are saved, communion: only at Easter or all the time, Sermons: preached with pomp and circumstance, anger, and sarcasm, sweet and pampering, agenda’s and schedules and time frames or the flow of things, gifts of God, are they for today or were they only for when Christ walked the earth.

D.o.C.:  (makes her way to the front bringing Cindy forward) Now that the Demon of Separation has done its job, I the Demon of Conflict have come in to keep you that way within your own denominations and fight amongst yourselves.

BoC:  I am the Body of Christ, the people that make up each denomination. (picks up her cards and starts placing them on the Bride stating each thing) Clothing: What should you wear to church, dress up clothes, jeans, should women wear pants and cut their hair and wear makeup, should men have tattoos or jewelry, Jealously, are we happy when our fellow Christians are blessed or do we covet the things each other has. Clicks: do we truly allow others within our own little worlds or do we cling together never letting outsiders in. Gossip, do we keep things that we know about others private or do we go into our secret places and tell what we know hurting those we are supposed to Love, Money and Greed, do we establish ourselves financially never giving to those in need because it might cost us something we want. Snubbing, are we excepting of those who may not look like up dress like us or act like us, putting our noses in the air and turning away from the hurt and lost. Favoritism is every ministry equal or do we favor just the ones we think are a benefit to us never caring what the benefits of other ministries are.

DoS: we have separated you<DoC : kept you in conflict, (together) now we work together to let the World come in to your house instead of you going into the World.(together bring Candice forward)

Worldly concepts: (picks up her cards and starts placing them on the Bride)  I am the Worlds view of the church. And the world views me as weak, and unstable, as wishy-washy, and indecisive, the world sees me as unyielding. to the world I am a place of fear and desperation. a place of greed and hype. The world doesn’t see me as a place of refuge, but a place of prejudice, it doesn’t see me as a place of comfort, but a place of bitterness. I have been seen as uncaring, instead of a place to find love unconditional.  My doors have been shut to the hurting, the poor and the helpless. I have turned my back on unwed mothers, those that have come through divorce, I haven’t been there for those who have had an abortion because they thought they had no other choice. I have been locked up so tight that the world won’t enter.

The Bride falls to the ground under the weight of the things placed upon her, Cindy, Candice and Barbara surround Me and the demons are swarming around them.

Music begins,

At end of song.

Bride: If we would all come together in love and open our hearts and minds I can be made ready once again for my coming wedding.
