Pure indulgent breezy fantasy. I had a lot of fun with this one.
I was going to bed
But as I laid down my head
I heard the most strangest of noises

After a loud squeak
I ventured a peek
And realized there were tiny voices

Then one of them saw me
And it was my folly
That I did not squish them right then

They were odd little creatures
With the most tiny of features
But had all the appearance of men

Off of their backs, wings seemed to sprout
And they began to flutter about
And they landed right down on my bedpost

They said, "We are sprites
Come with us tonight"
And that's when I fainted almost

One said, "I'll show you a trick
But you must come with us quick
Because we have to get out of here fast"

I felt a breeze and was lifted
And out the window I drifted
Oh, how long is this going to last!

They took me past streams
And all my day dreams
Until we reached the bank of a pond

There we met a crowned fairy
Who felt the need to carry
A large belly and a sparkling wand

He said, "I'm the king of the sprites
And I'll read you your rights
Although you may not understand it

You're being put on trial
For forgetting to smile
And for that we have named you a bandit"

They took me to the high courts
Where a sprite in orange shorts
Gave me the most devilish grin

He said, "We have you on file
For forgetting to smile
Your troubles are just about to begin"

"Your evidence is refuted
You're to be executed"
So they led me to a place high up

I'd turn to mush
If I gave in to a push
But as I was fighting I woke up

"How strange," I said
As I lay in my bed
"I've experienced the weird and the wild"

And as I pondered
The strange world yonder
I closed my eyes and smiled
