This poem was inspired by the sad and tragic life of my mother even from the womb. |
Twas silent and warm no light formed. Space without measure Yet contained limited treasure. Little voices played around sharing the moments in which they found, A bond of love, from heaven above. In the womb of cheated love. Moments, minutes, days; passed away, Happy were these little twain until that day, When one dear one was gone away. Silently, the little one lay Whilst the other wondered and gazed, As to why their other half, no longer knew how to laugh. Moments, minutes, days; passed by Silent now the womb in which must lie, one breathless form, mourned, By another whose world was now forlorn. All of a sudden the warmth moved, gushing away down the tube, Alone in the darkness, naked and thin the little one was moved in the dim. Their journey began, to start a new life but where was the other half of this 'life'? Onward, onward pushed and pulled until they found themselves, oh so chilled. This world was alien, as she gazed, alone and afraid the little one gave A wail of horror, as she looked around, and saw on the face of her mother a scowl. Where, O where, is my brother dear? Shedding bountiful tears, I strive to find him, the one so dear, As I am engulfed by loneliness I cannot bear. No mothers love did come her way, only bitter tears, that drummed upon the earth of clay, telling of her fears; As her days were filled with dread, of a mother's rage, for innocent actions of a child at play. Alone, alone the days they pass on, People she loved, with suspicion, and the emptiness lingers on and on, Waiting silently for a longed for fruition. Unhappy days, unhappy days follow the sunshine rays - Because, he went away, and did not tarry, to share her joys and sorrows, heavy. Onward, onward drive the days and she mournfully says, Where is he? my brother dear. Where is my brother? brother dear. |
