Stumbling Through a Christian Life! |
THE HUMAN CONDITION! Have pity, O GOD, On this condition of our humanness. For from birth, through life, to death, Do but stumble we all. Sometimes going down, Then up and on. But most times unable to rise From where we fall, We must reach out for YOUR holy hand And strength therein, to help us up again. Pursued by sins long since past, That possess throughout our lives, The power to rise up, Phoenix like And drive us down to our knees. Until we unChristlike plead, “O GOD, let this cup pass from me, I am to weak to drink, In this condition of my Humanness.” O, but where there is still life, There remains some hope it seems, That things may be better With the passing of time. So with those hopes, We dare to dream, only to find, In time, that we can still be victims Of reality, of fear, of chance, Of fate, of demons In truth, O GOD, we know not what. Only that so many of our dreams Are, one by one, With the passing of time, Each overcome, each crushed, Each taken from us. By realities of life, by fear, by chance, by fate, By demons of our own We have not strength to face alone. Yet still, with time to try, We dare to try and though failing, We try again and again and again. As long as there is time to, we dare to, For what else can we do? While hoping quietly that you Will choose to intercede and grant, In part, some part of all we ask. As we stumble on, from birth, through life, to death. In this condition of our humanness. And on this condition of our humanness, At some time, Ask we all, Have pity, O GOD. Link to the YOUTUBE Video: https://youtu.be/GCrw71KNwdY |
