A glimpse of life while battling drug addiction and human nature to strive for happiness
Think to yourself this time of night.
Fear the words that come to mind.
How one acquires a golden plate?
For in your eyes, it’s already too late.

Seen the world for what it truly is.
Stars shined bright through the wilderness.
The basis of humans:  greedy little things.
When is it nature’s, turn to sing?

The times were good, the best ever saw.
The past was dark, so far from it all.
Turn of face, reflect in mirrors.
Vision skewed, distant from clear.

What is life, with regret of actions?
What’s the point, when controlled in fashion?
I looked over my shoulder to see my friends.
Caught up in chaos, life of pretend.

Dreamt of the world as a perfect sphere.
Awoke to sounds of screams so near.
Love thy neighbor, but kill the son.
Product of judgment can never be won.

Some I’ve seen go on, all out.
No sense of time, no fleeting doubt.
Others give in, then turn around.
Driven by role, abide by sound.

To live your life as a pawn,
Or take control and see a new dawn.
Peace is given to those who strive.
Pity to ones who fall to lies.

Here I stand betwixt in choice.
Future calls for a deciding voice.
Is this character? Individuality?
Or fabrication, so far from reality.

Conscious enough to come to conclusion,
All is fake, just an illusion.
It’s time for change, renaissance.
Agony, insanity, to replace ignorance.

Eventually the eyes look past the down and dire.
Looking through, into the light of fire.
Free from the torment, society’s sheep.
Separate,  whole, alive and unique.
