Two strangers who found common ground.
Mopsy and Oliver

One is not too young,
One is not that old.
Would they be friends?
Would he be too bold?

She was queen of her kingdom,
He was new but he could be nice.
Before he touched her things
He'd better think twice.

Her territory included the porch;
But he lived there now.
Could she possibly share it?
Would his presence she allow?

What's that in the bushes?
Black and white and broad as it is wide?
She rushed to the screen,
The newcomer at her side.

The intruder turned and ran
When she hissed and he spat.
They might make a good team
Her and this new cat.
