A Kyrielle poem for Day 2, Rhythm & Rhyme winter contest.
A Kyrielle poem written for Day 2 of "Invalid Item in conjunction with "Winter Writing Warm Up. The Kyrielle is a rhyming quatrain (four stanzas), in which the last line of each stanza is repeated throughout the entire poem, and each line has 8 syllables. The rhyming pattern I selected was aabB, aabB, aabB.

The night was young, the lanes were fast,
The pins did fall, it couldn't last.
A split, no two, I had to pout,
T'was leaving me the odd man out.

One to my left, one on my right,
Me betwixt, the pins tall and white.
My ball's away, "Oh no, a rout."
T'was leaving me the odd man out.

One strike, two strikes, three, then a spare,
My teammates miss their shots, how rare.
I'm the one who's left, tall and stout,
T'was leaving me the odd man out.
