A Righteous Sleep

the north wind blows

across the empty plain

a biting cold which signals all

to go to sleep

as it takes ahold of our lives

and leaves but dreams

to be told another time



merciful sleep

puts an end to pretentious lives

and puts us in our rightful place

giving back to that which gave life

to us in the first place



But what of our dreams?

where do THEY go?

Do they go on and on?
