Student Activity: Let them try to reconstruct some sentence whoppers!
Directions:
• Print these sentences out in 16 font Times New Roman putting 2 spaces between each word for easy cutting.
• Cut up each sentence into strips of several words each and then put al strips for one sentence in an envelope. You should have one envelope for each sentence.
• Divide the class into 3-6 groups and hand each group a sentence to put together as it should be.
• Sometimes students can come up with alternatives that work. That is part of the fun.


1. Once upon a time a beautiful and highly intelligent fairy princess lived in a kingdom by the sea.

2. The first grade student rode a snazzy new Mongoose bicycle around and around in her front yard as her brother threw colored water balloons at her. (27 words)
