I wrote this as a reflection of how I imagine a hermit or shut-in's emotions.
The walls of everyday living are drawing closer...and closer.

They mock and chide endless reminders of how

small I really am...

How useless, unloved and ridiculously lonely I really am.

For every morning I wake up as one.

One individual with so much to share and not a soul to share it with.

One individual with life gushing through scarred veins and a broken heart.

"...one lonely soul," I hear them say.

So what do I have other than these walls?

These walls know everything about me and yet they spread no gossip.

These walls are all I have.

And these walls mock and chide endless reminders of how small I really am...
