A Daughter receives help after a bad relationship.
Kneeling, crying, heart broken,
She stays hurt.

Over hearing her,
The mother steps in,

To share her words of wisdom,
Love comfort, and teach her.

“Darlin’,” she says,
“Girl, what’s wrong with you now?”

“He left me again,
I don’t know why, I don’t know how.

How can he do this?
I’ve done all I can.”

“Listen child,” her mother said,
Picking her up by the hands.

“You can’t drown yourself,
In sorrow, pain, and tears.

Because I promise you,
I promise you, a better future is near.

Find you a real man,
Not a little boy.

Find one, who care and listens,
And to him, your heart be not a toy.”

“But mama, I thought I loved him,”
“And love is such a strong word;

It has responsibilities and baggage,
Too much for one to hold.

Now you need someone with structure,
And accepts you for who you are;

Not someone you fall for,
Because a surplus of money,
Or big rims on a fast car.

Now, that all sounds so wonderful,
Something beyond your wildest dreams.

But I believe in quality over quantity,
Now just take the advice from me.”

“I understand now, I get the words,
as you speak.

Things may not always be perfect,
But you only want the best for me.

Lots of kids, happy long life,
I’ll have a good husband,
Be the perfect wife.

Maybe if I focus more on the future,
Rather that I do the present.

I’ll find my good man,
I’ll learn my lesson.”

“Yes baby girl,
You will, I know.

That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you,
Ever since a long time ago.

Now put your face back on,
Your make up is sliding all down your cheek.

Better yet, leave it, wipe it off,
You’re beautiful, can’t you see?

A mother’s love,
Cured her daughter’s pain.

Although what she thought was love, lost,
Many life lessons were gained.
