Ensuring you always have friends, means being one...
The kindness and consideration that I would show a friend,
The concern and the caring, until the very end,
May never be the kind of love that I am to be shown,
By the self-absorbed, loveless folks I let sit on the throne.

I doubt some people’s faith, for their trust is often meant
To single out opposing forces, unsure of soul’s intent.
Were they not so self-assured and mired in their plight,
They could call for many a friend, amid the darkest night…

I check my ego at the door when leaving someone’s house –
Their ultimate decisions die with honoring some mouse…
Perhaps I'm not the central figure, always in my prime,
But then my passion, faith, and hope can truly be sublime!

How I’d love to love again, ensuring others’ pride,
By wishing others all the best, and being by their side.
But loyalty from the truest friend means quality and care –
Showing others decency can be something very rare!
