A poem about losing hope.
Yes, it is confusing,
this alive but sharp feeling
that shows no mercy to me.

You're in my mind
and in my dreams
you're haunting me.

I have never felt so alive
where my heart beats twice,
but never felt so dead at the same time.

I see your smile
and you steal my breath,
gasping for air
I'm slowly suffacating.

Slowly falling
but you're not there.
I fall into a hole
painted black.
looking up
no one's there.
Not even you.

The beat beneath my chest
that only slows more and more.

Tired of waiting
I want to dream something different.
But there's a traitor here
beneath my breast.

It freezes like ice
slowly dying.
It hurts me more
than you've ever guessed.
Because you will never love me
